1900 BC. In what modern Indians mistakenly call the Indus Valley Civilisation. The inhabitants of that period called it the land of Meluha – a near perfect empire created many centuries earlier by Lord Ram, one of the greatest monarchs that ever lived.
This once proud empire and its Suryavanshi rulers face severe perils as its primary river, the revered Saraswati, is slowly drying to extinction. They also face devastating terrorist attacks from the east, the land of the Chandravanshis. To make matters worse, the Chandravanshis appear to have allied with the Nagas, an ostracised and sinister race of deformed humans with astonishing martial skills.
The only hope for the Suryavanshis is an ancient legend: ‘When evil reaches epic proportions, when all seems lost, when it appears that your enemies have triumphed, a hero will emerge.’
Is the rough-hewn Tibetan immigrant Shiva, really that hero?
And does he want to be that hero at all?
Drawn suddenly to his destiny, by duty as well as by love, will Shiva lead the Suryavanshi vengeance and destroy evil?
This is the first book in a trilogy on Shiva, the simple man whose karma re-cast him as our Mahadev, the God of Gods.

Book Review
When I was reading this book I thought this is a real story of the Lord Shiva, and Amish narrated it from a different perspective. I’m not alone when you’ll read this book you’ll think the same.
But after some research and halfway into the book, I realized that this is just a fantasy fiction and it isn’t an actual story of the lord shiva.
Honestly speaking after reading online reviews I thought let’s see if this is a page-turning book or all this popularity is just a hoax. But after reading this book I realized that for me this isn’t a page-turning book, though it is a very interesting book and easy to read.
But I think Amish stretched this book too much, he could have completed it shorter. Anyway, after completing this book I was very curious about what is going to happen in the next part, because Amish decided to left it with the mystery.
To know that mysterious part I had to read the whole series, ironically that’s what book series is… Either you read the next part or leave it without getting your answers.
Anyway for me, this book was worth a try and I’m glad that I tried it, though Amish’s other books are mind-blowing compare to this. But still, for fiction fans, this book is a gem…
